Leela worked with her husband in the 1936 film Sati Sulochana. Leela was given ₹ 500 for this film while her husband got one and a half hundred rupees.
It is said that Leela did not like that any unknown person should touch her, which was the reason why Leela had turned down many offers despite getting lead roles in films and made her own identity in character roles.
